About Us

Tennessee Hardwood Flooring started as Stone River Heirlooms manufacturing antique reproductions.  About 15 years ago (time flies) we gradually started manufacturing custom hardwood flooring for our clients expanding on our furniture expertise.   We are a very up front family owned business.  Daily we deal with companies that mislead, exaggerate and deceive.  We refuse to practice this method of conducting business and serve people who feel the same.

This is how we operate:

  • We manufacture the flooring you purchase here in Tennessee. (We are not an Internet store).
  • All our flooring is priced by the square foot not the linear foot.
  • All of our flooring is a full ¾” thick solid product.  It is not engineered (plastic) or laminate.
  • We have a wear through warranty of 10 years.  This is a reasonable amount of time to wear through 4 mils of polyurethane.  In most settings it lasts much longer but common sense will tell you it depends on how you treat it.  If you wish to purchase floors from a company that has been in business for only a couple of years and has a 50 year warranty, help yourself. I’m sure the Brooklyn Bridge is still for sale.
  • Our finish isn’t any better than anyone else’s but theirs isn’t any better than ours.  Polyurethane is polyurethane (aluminum oxide is included).
  • The number of coats is basically irrelevant.  How much finish that is on the wood is important.  We apply 4 mils to all our wood flooring where the average in the industry is 2 3/4 mils.
  • If you call us we will answer (if we are in the office).  You need not listen closely for our options have not changed, you will talk to a person.  As long as I own this company you will not go into push button hell. Your time is important too.
  • Most importantly, we do not want your money until we earn it. We will take your order and make your flooring especially for you.  You need not pay a dime until we deliver.  Our thinking is that this way of doing business makes the risk ours, as well it should be.  We have confidence in our products and we believe in the inner good of man.  We reserve the right not to accept a hardwood flooring order from anyone for obvious reasons.  It is sad that deception is ramped in our country and we believe that you don’t need it from a wood flooring company in Tennessee.  If you are ever in the Smoky Mountain area, feel free to come by and take a look at our facilities and showroom.
